Setting Goals for 2014

new years goals 2014I seriously cannot believe I haven’t posted anything on O’Boy! Organic since the 17th of December. With the holidays, kids being home from school, traveling and throwing a surprise 41st birthday dinner party for 18 I hardly had time to pee. I do have to say that I don’t feel guilty about it because the time I spent doing extra things with and for my family was very worth it.

I needed the time to re-boot and think about how I wanted my 2014 to be, professionally and personally. There are things that I always say I will do within the new year. Some I complete and some get pushed under the rug. This year I want things to be different and I think they will. This is the first year that both of my kids are in school full day and I am working for myself, doing what I WANT TO DO WITH MY LIFE. I am very blessed that I don’t have to work a 9 to 5 job outside of my home. I can have the flexibility to work for myself out of my home so I can be there for my children, husband and home when need be. So 2014 is going to be different because I have confidence that I will meet all of my goals that I set for myself.

Goals for 2014  – PERSONAL

GET BACK IN SHAPE – I was thinner just after my 2nd child 6 years ago than I am right at this moment. I could make a shit load of excuses for myself but an excuse is an excuse and I’ve run out of them. So my goal is lose 30 lbs in 2014 and run at least 3 races, starting with one 5K and then work my way up from there, but not making any promises on running more than that.

GET UP EARLIER – To make my “getting into shape” goal happen I need to start my day earlier. Now I get up at 7am with the kids and that isn’t going to cut it. I’d like to get up at 5:30 so that I can work before the kids get up. Giving me that time will allow for me to take an hour out of my day to workout.

MORE FAMILY NIGHTS – We play games with the kids but we don’t do it on a regular basis. This holiday we spent 3 days playing Monopoly with the kids and we all loved every minute of it. Our oldest was so appreciative of the time we spent together as a family which meant (to me) that we were not spending enough time together doing things as a family.

WORK ON MY MARRIAGE – Without getting too personal, my marriage needs some love. During the last year my mother died, I gained a lot of weight, became depressed and really just unhappy with myself. How can I make someone else happy when I am so unhappy. I feel by being home more, exercising, shutting down the computer at night, having more date nights and maybe a little therapy we can get back on track.

GET ORGANIZED AND STAY ORGANIZED – If you walked into my house you would think I was the most organized person on this earth, but you don’t look in my closets or storage room. They are a mess. I am setting goals to get every closet cleaned out and organized in early 2014.

UPDATE MY WEBSITE – I started O’Boy! Organic 4 years ago and it needs a face lift. I’d love to incorporate more personal items to my blog like my love for DIY projects, fashion and decorating.

SPEND MORE TIME ON O’BOY! ORGANIC – I want to make O’Boy! Organic a priority again. I’ve worked for someone else for so long that I almost forgot I had my own business. I am excited to start doing a series of cooking classes at local kids cafe’s in the Philadelphia area, doing more private and small group classes for parents and get back into making organic baby food for babies.

WRITE AN E-BOOK – This is something I’ve been wanting to do for some time but I’ve never had the time to spend on something like this. Not sure what it will be about but I know that I can accomplish this goal with the new time I have.

So those are my goals for the 2014 year. I will keep you posted throughout the year so you can see how I am doing. What goals do you have for yourself in 2014?
