Spring sports is over and it’s the last week of school for the boys. That means summer is here and our schedule is opening up. I love having more time to create new meals for my family in the kitchen or on the grill. Here are a few ways you can save time during your week so you can be outdoors with the kids but still have healthy weekly meals for the family.
Menu Planning Time Saving Tips
* Plan out your meals
* Pre- Start your meal in the morning before the day begins so you don’t have to spend as much in the kitchen later on
* Think about the leftovers from one meal that could be used for another meal later on in the week
* Keep your favorite recipes in one place. I have a special Pinterest board that I put all my “family favorite” recipes
* Ask your family members what they would like for dinner. Each member of the family can choose a night but the final meal needs to be approved by mom Only healthy options.
REAL FOOD Weekly Menu Plan 6.8.14
Monday: It’s Meatless Monday and I am going to make the gluten free Ricotta Gnocchi with roasted tomato sauce that I didn’t make last week.
Tuesday: It’s my birthday so I will NOT be cooking – YAY for me!
Wednesday: Finn wants Mac-n-Cheese so I’ll be making a gluten free Cauliflower Mac-n-Cheese that is picky eater approved.
Thursday: Leftover Night – my favorite night of the week
Friday: Jax wants pizza so we will make homemade pizza using some gluten free flour for the crust – wish me luck!
Saturday: Headed to a family BBQ and I found this great Asian Cole Slaw recipe on Pinterest that I am going to try
Sunday: It’s Fathers Day so we will be heading out or having friends over for a backyard party so our menu is up in the air.
