Real Food Menu Plan for Busy Families 3.20.17

I’ve taken a few weeks off from menu planning on blog, mainly because our meals were not very exciting. Most meals consisted of sandwiches, take out, freezer meals and breakfast for dinner. My oldest was in the middle school production of Peter Pan, playing Nibs (one of the lost boys) and rehearsal schedule was brutal. Then you throw in a husband traveling and company mixed in adds up to one stressed out mama. The play is now over, husband it back and company gone so our house is back to normal….for this week anyway!

I plan on making the most of it by having family dinners as many nights as I can before spring sports start. It’s always something isn’t it? I have a few new meals I want to try out on the family and stick in some old favorites that my picky eater will love. Here’s to a great week!

Real Food Menu Plan for Busy Families 3.20.17

Monday: We have a ton of leftovers from the weekend that I want out of my fridge so LEFTOVER NIGHT it is!

Tuesday: This is a busy night in our house and I need to make something that will be able to stay warm so the family can eat in shifts. This Celeriac and Potato may sound a bit strange but it’s so good, even my picky eater gives it 2 thumbs up.

Wednesday: New Recipe – Pasta with Chicken Pesto

Thursday: My oldest loves anything with sausage and kale. Risotto may seem intimidating for some but this Sausage and Kale Risotto recipe is super easy and can be prepared for a fun weeknight meal.

Friday: We have Garth Brooks tickets so the boys and babysitter will order take out.

Saturday: So happy to have nothing going on throughout the weekend. I have some shrimp in my freezer that I’m not sure what I’m going to make with it. Help me out, would you make Shrimp Scampi or Tuscan Shrimp?

Sunday: Spending the day in the kitchen making some of our favorites to freeze for the next school week and throwing a Ham in the oven for dinner. I buy our ham a bit bigger than I need to so we can use the leftovers for other meals.

So that’s my menu plan for this week…hope it’s inspired you to think outside the box when feeding your family.
