I’ve taken a few weeks off from sharing my menu plan online, for no other reason just being lazy. We went to the shore for about 5 days to celebrate the 4th of July and traveling always puts a wrench into meal planning, and to to honest it was just too darn hot this week to cook. When it hits 100 degrees I don’t even want to turn on my grill and oven…NO WAY! I made a few no cook meals, we ate out a few times and I did manage to grill out a few nights. This week is suppose to be a bit better, not so hot. Thank goodness! We are headed for another short vacation on Friday but we’ve got the rest of the week to think about. How are you dealing with the summer heat, no change in your meal planning or do you switch it up a bit?
REAL FOOD Menu Plan 7.11.16
Monday: I have zucchini coming out of my ears! Making zucchini fritters and grilled salmon for dinner
Tuesday: Grass fed beef was on sale at my local grocery store so I stocked up. Threw some in the freezer and left one out. Planing on grilled steak with baby potatoes and broccoli from the garden
Wednesday: I found a package of moose meat in the freezer so I thought I’d make it into burgers and serve with homemade baked beans and salad.
Thursday:We will be busy packing for our trip so I want to keep it easy. Warming up some baked pasta that I froze and serving it with grilled summer squash and crusty bread.
Friday: Just arriving to our rental for the long weekend we are not sure what the plans are. We may just order in or find a cute local restaurant for dinner. Another great thing to do is throw some burgers and dogs on the grill and call it a day. Easy dinner that everyone can enjoy.
Saturday: We are planning a tubing trip down the Delaware River for the day and there is no way I will want to think about planning a meal for 13 once we get back. Throwing in a big pork butt into the crock pot for shredded pork sandwiches later on.
Sunday: It’s our last night at the house so I think we will either do Taco Night or Pizza Buffet which will be a hit for kids and adults. Which would be your favorite?
So that’s my menu plan for this week…hope it’s inspired you to think outside the box when feeding your family.
