REAL FOOD Menu Plan 6.28.15

I cannot believe Saturday is July 4th, where has half the summer went? The kids are settling into camp and I am trying to get my groove back and adjusting to my new summer schedule, which makes everyone in our house happy. This week will be a bit crazy because of the holiday and we will be traveling to the shore for the weekend. Trying a few new recipes this week (hoping the family likes them) and then sticking with some old favorites. What’s on your menu this week? Got anything special planned for the 4th of July?

REAL FOOD Menu Plan 6.28.15

Monday: Salad Night! Grilling Skirt Steak and then adding it to a bed of mixed greens, goat cheese and grilled vegetables. For the boys I will have them eat the steak and vegetables separate and for a starch I will put a few potatoes on the grill for the boys.

Tuesday: Heading to a friends for dinner and drinks with the kiddos. I still have Rhubarb in the garden so I want to use some of that up and make one of my favorite desserts – Strawberry Rhubarb Crisp served with ice cream.

Wednesday: Never got the chance to make those venison burgers so we are giving it a try this week with Avocado Pasta Salad.

Thursday: Before we head to the shore I want to clean out the fridge, so leftovers will be for dinner.

Friday: We will be at the shore so it’s up in the air! We love making grilled pizzas so maybe we will do that. YUM! It’s a great way to get the kids in the kitchen and help out. Who doesn’t love making pizzas?

Saturday: Happy 4th of July! We will be at the shore and have the traditional BBQ fare. My MIL will make the main dinner so I will help by making an appetizer. This Layered Taco Dip is always a hit at parties.

Sunday: Headed to my SIL house for another BBQ. It will be a potluck and I saw this recipe and thought I’d try. BLT Pasta Salad – doesn’t that sound yummy?

Just remember when you are feeling a bit overwhelmed with “life” a little organization goes a long way. Most of these meals can be prepared in less than 30 minutes and some can even be fully cooked within that time.
