REAL FOOD Menu Plan 3.27.16

Spring sports are in full force. Baseball and lacrosse have started, and this weekend the boys have their first lacrosse games.  We also have a baseball parade which celebrates the beginning of the season. I know we bring on all this craziness ourselves but the kids love both sports and in the last 3 years they have never complained about going, so we keep it up until it doesn’t work anymore. One way that I keep myself sane throughout these busy months is by having a set schedule and menu plan. By taking time at the beginning of each week to plan meals it helps me stay on track and keeps us eating healthy meals throughout the week.

REAL FOOD Menu Plan 3.27.16

Monday: We are completely out of pancakes and waffles so I plan on making our meatless Monday meal “Breakfast for Dinner” I make big batches of both and freeze extras for those busy mornings. I have a pancake/waffle mix that I use which makes it super easy to make both in a snap.

Tuesday: It’s been a few weeks since we’ve done a TACO TUESDAY. I plan on having the meat in the crock pot so the kids can easily eat before practice and then my husband and I can eat later night.

Wednesday: This day is by far our busiest night of the week so to make my life easier we are making Wednesday our LEFTOVER NIGHT!

Thursday: I haven’t made chicken empanadas in FOREVER so I thought it was time to bring it back into the rotation.

Friday: Looking at the weather and it’s suppose to be rainy so homemade soup and salad is on the menu.

Saturday: Making homemade pizzas with the kids

Sunday: We will be traveling all over for lacrosse games so no time to cook. Before we leave I plan on putting chicken and rice dish in the slow cooker so I don’t have to worry about dinner later on.

So that’s my menu plan for this week…hope it’s inspired you to think outside the box when feeding your family. Just remember when you are feeling a bit overwhelmed with “life” a little organization goes a long way. Most of these meals can be prepared in less than 30 minutes and some can even be fully cooked within that time.
