REAL FOOD Menu Plan 12.22.14

YIKES! Its just a few days before Christmas and I have zero gifts wrapped. We just came back from a long weekend vacation in Michigan to visit my family… as you can imagine I am now feeling a bit stressed. Last night after driving 8 hours home the kids asked what was for dinner, my answer….oatmeal, cereal and fruit and you can make it. I had no energy to do anything and I didn’t even drive home, my husband did. LOL

Now I need to plan our Christmas eve dinner, plus meals for the rest of the week and truth be told…I am not into it. I feel like my house is mess, laundry piling up and a ton of presents to wrap, which leaves no time for cooking. But, the family needs to eat and they can’t have oatmeal every night. I am making it easy on myself and picking meals that I either have in the freezer, can be made within 30 minutes or prepared beforehand.

How are you managing everything this week? Do you have a routine that you are sticking to or any special advice you would like to share because I need it…I am drowning over here!

REAL FOOD Menu Plan 12.22.14

Monday: Lemon Chicken with Fettuccine and Salad

Tuesday: Chili with salad and cornbread

Wednesday: Christmas Eve! It’s just the 4 of us (YAY) so we are planning a dinner of our favorites. Each person in the family gets to request one thing which will go with our orange glazed baked ham. Menu for that coming soon..

Thursday: Christmas! We will be munching on an amazing dinner made by my MIL so I am off the hook for dinner planning!

Friday: My husband is taking a “guys weekend” so it will be just the boys and I hanging for the weekend. They love breakfast for dinner so I know that will be a big hit.

Saturday: Using some of my venison for Sloppy Joes served with salad and homemade fries

Sunday: We are going to have a Sunday Funday in the city so dinner will be TBD.

Just remember when you are feeling a bit overwhelmed with “life” a little organization goes a long way.  If you are still looking for inspiration head over to my Menu PlansOn Pinterest? Head over and check out my Family Meals Board for more real food inspirations.
