I seriously can’t believe it’s that last week of October! Halloween is Friday and I am feeling a bit overwhelmed trying to get everything done before the big night. Last week my husband was away on a business trip. I was pretty proud of myself that I kept with my menu plan for most of the week. The kids were pleased with my choices – Yahoo! Got any tips for menu planning? Do you involve the kids in the menu planning process or just wing it?
REAL FOOD Menu Plan 10.27.14
Monday: We are doing leftover night a bit early this week. We have a few meals in the fridge that I want to eat up before making anything new….so LEFTOVER NIGHT it is!
Tuesday: It’s “Taco Tuesday” using Shrimp instead of beef or chicken
Wednesday: Sheperds Pie – now this isn’t my husband’s favorite but I have a ton of potatoes that I need to do something with and beef in the freezer so
Thursday: It’s pumpkin carving night! Making a new dish – Pumpkin and Kale Pasta Bake. I can easily prepare it earlier on in the day so all I need to do is pop it in the oven at dinnertime.
Friday: It’s Halloween!! We are heading down to a friends house for a party and trick or treating. I got a great idea for Brie Bites from Wine in Mom that I think I will bring to share.
Saturday: Date Night! Kids and sitter will enjoy pizza from one of favorite local restaurants.
Sunday: Never had a chance to make the Italian Wedding Soup so it’s on the menu again for this week. It is actually going to be perfect because the weather is suppose to be CHILLY! Serving it with some homemade crusty bread.
