Protein Gluten Free Grain Smoothie

We love smoothies. It’s a great way to added nutrients into your body or those picky eaters without much fuss. I’ve made many smoothies in the past but this is the first time I added grains. Using quinoa and amaranth in this smoothie added protein, fiber and iron which makes this smoothie a complete meal not just a snack.

  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • 2 bananas
  • ½ cup cooked quinoa/amaranth mix
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 cup ice
  • ½ cup water - if needed
  1. Place all ingredients except water into a blender. Blend until smooth. If you feel you need it a bit thinner then add some water a little bit at a time.
  2. Enjoy!
