O’Boy! Weekends

Well HELLO THERE!! It’s been forever since I just sat down and wrote about my life and what’s happening at the O’Boy! Organic homestead. I spend a ton of time sharing my favorite recipes and sustainable living tips but not much about our actual life. I hope I want O’Boy! Weekends to become a weekly addition on the blog so I can share fun things we are doing as a family, books we are reading, some favorite recipes I’ve seen throughout the week and fun home projects we are up to.

OK, who is still stunned that last weekend was the 4th of July? To me that means summer is about half way over and I feel we haven’t even started our summer yet. The boys decided to do travel summer baseball and our oldest did a 3 week theater camp so both of those things have taken up a lot of our time. We did get a chance to spend 5 days at the shore over the 4th which lead to lots of surfing time for the boys. One of my favorite things in the world is watching my boys doing something they love. For me, it’s pure bliss.

Camp is over and this is the last weekend of baseball so this mama is jumping up and down excited to be free of commitments for the rest of the summer.  We have a few trips planned this summer, the first one happening next weekend. We are meeting our long time friends at a house in the Catskill mountains for a 3 day weekend. Staying at this beautiful house with private lake near the Delaware River. Here is a sneak peak at the place, I can’t wait to share the rest with you after we get back.

I’ve got my book all picked out for the trip. It was hard to choose because there are so many great summer reads out there. What are you reading this summer? If your stumped and can’t decide here are a few good choices to help you out.

In Twenty Years

We have been doing some home improvements recently and I finally got around to painting the living room and recovering two chairs. I can’t believe I found the exact fabric I’ve been dreaming about. I think it goes perfectly with the rest of the space and flows nicely with the rest of the house. What do you think?

It’s been extremely hot this past week, way too hot for the oven so we have been grilling a lot and using the crock pot. One of the many recipes that I found throughout the week was this crock pot Peach Cobbler that I cannot wait to try. Peaches are in season and this dessert can be made in just 2 hours in the crock pot without heating up the kitchen.

So that’s about it for this weekend. Gotta do another load of laundry so the boys have clean uniforms for tomorrow. I’d love to know…how many loads of laundry do you do daily?
