Making the Most of 2015

I know! I know! You should of been reading this at the beginning of January 2015 not the end. What can I say….I needed more time to think.  As a new year approaches we tend to reflect on the previous year and how we can make the next one even better. I bet you are dying to know how I am making the most of 2015! Well, the biggest thing for me to focus on in 2015 is having a new perspective on how life should be. For me, 2015 isn’t going to be about getting more but becoming content with what I have and learning how to achieve the goals I’ve set for myself.

How I will Achieve Success in 2015….

HAVING A MORE PURPOSEFUL LIFE: I am just moving along in life and not doing it with a lot of purpose. I asked myself this question a lot lately – what do I really want in life? I think we tend to forget about ourselves because we are focused on everyone else. My goal is to move towards getting my personal passion back. I am not too sure what that means just yet, but I do know that I need to take steps towards what I WANT and removing things in my life that I DON’T WANT.

MAKING SMART GOALS: I am being very realistic this year and not setting myself up for disappointment.  I think this goes back to leading a more purposeful life. I am focusing on what really matters and setting goals that are more attainable and relevant than ever before. By writing my goals down and making a action plan helps me stay on task and not lose sight of what I am trying to achieve.

SHOWING MORE GRATITUDE: Life is overwhelming at times and its easy to lose track of what is REALLY important. I am taking time out daily to be more thankful. At the end of each day I’ve been writing down 3 things that made me happy that day which is helping me focus on the positive instead of the negative.

INVESTING IN MYSELF: I started O’Boy! Organic in 2010 and I can honestly say that I have not fully invested 100% into my own brand. I’ve always invested my time making other companies successful – 2015 is going to be my year! I can’t reach my professional goals if I don’t invest in myself…right?

CREATING A BUDGET: Personal things happened in 2014 that has forced me to really look at myself and my finances. Money issues can put huge stress on a individual or couple. It’s been VERY tough for me and my marriage, but I am huge believer that all those bumps in the road make you stronger, not only as a person but as a couple. One thing I’ve recently done is start a budget which will help me prioritize my spending and manage my money better. I just started using Mint.com – check it out!

BECOME HEALTHIER: People may think…how can YOU get any healthier? The word “healthy” can mean a lot of different things to different people. For me healthy is a lifestyle and it’s not just about the food we eat or how physically fit we are but, how healthy we are mentally. I want to get healthier on the inside and out. Just as I am setting personal and professional goals I am setting health goals. One very important goal is to get rid of the drugstore that I currently have in my medicine cabinet and treat conditions naturally. Another one is to be more consistent with my day to day eating habits, like making sure I eat breakfast daily. This goes back into investing in myself. I make sure my kids have healthy foods in the morning to get their brains flowing and I need to do that same for me. Here is my favorite breakfast shake that I love –> Banana Avocado Protein Shake and if I am in a rush I can grab the Stonyfield OP Organic Protein drink. I’ve noticed when starting my day off with some good protein it keeps me motivated to continue on a good eating path throughout the day.

How are you making the most of 2015?
