Don’t know what GMO is? Well you should!
What is GMO?
GMO is a genetically modified organism and is the result of a lab process of taking genes from one species and inserting them into another in an attempt to get a desired trait or characteristic. In many cases GMO seeds are both a poison and a food. GMO seeds are altered so they become a pesticide.
Unsure of how it affects you personally? Since GMOs entered our food supply we have seen some dramatic increases in diseases in children. According to Healthy Child Healthy World, we have had 400% increase in food allergies, 300% increase in asthma, 400% increase in ADHD and 1,500% increase in autism. Think about it….it affects many of us
You can decrease your chances of consuming these pesticides by eating foods that are certified NON-GMO. By going to the website Non GMO Project that will give you up to date information on products that currently are non gmo certified. Always remember the more packaged foods you purchase the better chance you will be consuming GMO foods. It’s always best to make your meals using “real foods”.
One of my favorite foods that my whole family consumes daily is yogurt. I’ve made my own yogurt using raw milk which is wonderful but there are times when we are just too darn busy and I need to purchase yogurt. By far my favorite isStonyfield. I’ve been a loyal consumer for years, even before kids. Stonyfield is the world’s leading organic yogurt maker that makes certified organic yogurt without the use of GMO’s, toxic persistent pesticides, artificial hormones and antibiotics. How do I know this? Because they are certified by the USDA and when you see this label it’s a guarantee for consumers that the foods you eat are made without the stuff you want to avoid.
Because of my dedication to healthy living I’ve become a Stonyfield Yo-Getter which gives me opportunities to share with my community some fun things that Stonyfield Farms is doing to educated others, and for you to experience firsthand their amazing yogurt.
Starting today at 10AM EST ending on Monday the 29th of July, Stonyfield is giving away 2,500 containers of Greek Stonyfield yogurt made without GMO’s. Stonyfield wants to give new and old fans a chance to try it so they created a new sweepstakes that gives people a chance to win a free coupon over a five day period of time.
All you need to do is go to their facebook page and enter. To increase your chances you can share this sweepstakes with your own Facebook and Twitter communities by using the hastag #YogurtCupTradeUP
Good Luck and educate yourself on the importance of avoiding GMO’s so you can keep you and your family healthy and safe of pesticides, artificial hormones and antibiotics.
