Healthy Smoothie Ideas for Kida

Healthy Smoothies for KidsSmoothies are great for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner…especially if you are fixing a meal that children may not be too keen on, at least you know they are getting some good into their bodies. We are huge smoothie fans in our house its a great way to sneak in good things that kids will not eat. One of my favorites that I think is super easy to make is a mixed berry smoothie. I buy a big frozen bag of mixed berries and it last forever in the freezer.

 

 

 

When I started making them the boys were not crazy about them. It didn’t have anything to do with the taste of the smoothie but it was the texture. They didn’t like the seeds…duh! It took a few times of making ice pops for me to realize what I had to do…strain the smoothie so the seeds were left out.

 

 Mixed Berry Smoothie
1 cup of frozen mixed berries
1/2 cup of Kefir
1/2 cup yogurt
1/2 cup of pure carrot juice
4 tablespoons of Flax Seed

Put all ingredients in a blender or my favorite choice an immersion blender, blend until smooth. If your little ones aren’t into the seeds, then use a strainer and strain. Then ENJOY! You can also freeze the extra and make ice pops.
