Burlap is a great and inexpensive way to decorate anytime of the year but I especially love to use this fabric in the fall. Burlap has such a earthy look and feel that it just seems natural to use it when decorating. This summer bought these fun burlap place mats from Kings Lane that are fun and helps my kids remember their manners during dinner.
Kings Lane now has other burlap place mats that are geared towards the holidays. Here is a set of 6 Thanksgiving place mats and also these cute ones for Christmas. Both can be used for family gatherings or as wrapping paper for special gifts.
If you are not into place mats then try making your own table runner using burlap. It makes a white table cloth just pop and it can be used throughout the rest of year too just by changing the types of table decorations.
You can easily extend the burlap theme to other areas of the table by making these cute no sew burlap silverware holder.
I also love this burlap wreath idea. You can purchase everything from a local craft store for almost pennies. After Thanksgiving is over , you can easily just change out the “Give Thanks” banner for a holiday.
I love this DIY burlap pumpkin. Remember those inexpensive plastic pumpkin baskets that kids use for trick or treating? Well now you can make that cheesy basket into something decorative for your home.
Use any extra burlap you have for bows. You can decorate lap posts or banisters. Have the kids collect pine cones in the yard then string them together and attach to the bow.
